‘Teach for Mongolia’ launches spring recruitment

The non-governmental organization “Teach for Mongolia” has been sending young people to rural areas since 2022. It aims to place both teachers and professionals interested in working in the education sector in rural communities for a two-year term, based on specific criteria. The fourth round of recruitment has begun this spring and will run until the end of next month. The program is open to Mongolian citizens who hold a bachelor’s degree or higher, with a GPA of 3.0 or above.

As of this time, 33 young teachers have been placed in 14 schools across 13 soums in eight provinces. The first batch of 12 teachers completed their term in June of last year, with six of them choosing to remain as permanent teachers at the provincial and soum schools.

The program aims to positively impact over 22,000 students in rural areas by 2030 by establishing a system where every child, regardless of social, economic, or geographical conditions, receives quality and accessible education. Teachers who work in provincial center schools receive a 20 percent salary increase, while those teaching in rural soum schools are eligible for a 40 percent salary boost.
