B.Amgalanbaatar, the Secretary General of the Mongolian Liberal Party, officially submitted a request to join the Democratic Party (DP). This marks the second political party to make such a request this year. The Mongolian Liberal Party’s decision follows the extraordinary fourth session of the SHINE Party, which convened on March 30, and its members overwhelmingly voted in favor of merging with the Democratic Party. The proposal passed with 99.3 percent approval from 1,089 delegates.

The Mongolian Liberal Party also made a similar political decision during its ninth session held on April 2, to join the DP. This new development sets the stage for further discussions and decisions regarding the merger. At the DP’s 35th anniversary congress, the members of the National Policy Committee of the DP will deliberate and make a final decision on the requests to merge both the SHINE Party and the Mongolian Liberal Party.
