Speaker of the Parliament D.Amarbayasgalan was presented a bill proposing amendments to the Law on Police Service, introduced by a member of parliament, D.Tsogtbaatar.
The proposed amendments aim to regulate the appointment and dismissal of police leadership for fixed terms and provide procedures for removing senior officials before their term ends. The amendments also emphasize transparency within the police force by allowing the public to share news and information through legal channels, helping to increase accountability and reduce crime and misconduct within the organization.
In addition, the amendments address concerns about police officers who fail to perform their duties effectively, especially in urban areas. The proposed changes highlight the importance of ensuring that police officers adhere to their responsibilities, prevent disputes, and avoid actions that could negatively impact the organization’s functioning, the performance of officers, and the reputation of the police service. This initiative is in line with the parliament’s commitment to improving law enforcement and public safety in Mongolia.
