Egschiglen to perform at Fajr Music Festival

Egschiglen, a celebrated Mongolian folk band, will be performing a concert during the 33rd Fajr International Music Festival in Iran, the organizers announced on December 30. Over 90 performances by 85 bands will be going on stage in different sections of the 33rd Fajr Music Festival opening in Tehran on January 10, 2018, the director of the festival Hamidreza Nurbakhsh said. The international section will also have active participation with a variety of music from different nations by groups coming from Mongolia, Senegal, Japan, Serbia, China and Slovenia. Egschiglen is one of Mongolia’s few traditional bands that enjoy a worldwide fame. They’ve been performing since 1991 and went on tours to 12 European countries in 1992. Egschiglen has been working hard on developing their contemporary music using Mongolia and Central Asian traditional instruments in German. The band featuring Tumenbayar Migdorj, Tumursaihan Yanlav, Uuganbaatar Tsend-Ochir, Amartuwshin Baasandorj and Sarangerel Tserevsamba, and has performed at several international events and festivals before. Egschiglen is scheduled to perform at Tehran’s Rudaki Hall on January 11. The 33rd Fajr International Music Festival will be held in Tehran from January 10 to 20.
