Chinese Premier’s wife donates 1 million CNY in resources to a UB children’s home

The Special Complex for the Training and Education of Children and Young Adults was granted one million CNY in resources by Cheng Hong, wife of Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Li Keqiang, on July 16. The donations included a bus, computers, copy machines, backpacks, and toys. Ulaanbaatar Mayor S.Batbold, Mongolian Ambassador to China Ts.Sukhbaatar, Chinese Ambassador to Mongolia Xing Haiming, and the teachers and students of the complex attended a ceremony for the granting of the donations. Mayor S.Batbold expressed his gratitude to the Chinese government and public for choosing the complex to receive the donations. The complex serves children from the city's nine districts who have been raised under the most difficult of conditions. He added that he plans to improve the living and learning environments of children, and to protect children's rights through the Child-Friendly Ulaanbaatar program. Ambassador Xing Haiming expressed her excitement about the presentation of Cheng Hong's "gift from the heart" and wished the children luck in their studies. The complex is home to orphaned and economically vulnerable children from the ages of four to 21. It provides children with professional training, educational and social opportunities, and mental health support. Four graduates from the complex are now attending Beijing University and Nanjing University, six are attending Xilin Gol Vocational College in Inner Mongolia, and five are attending the music academy of Japan Aviation High School.
