Mourning declared for passing of first president

Following the passing of Mongolia’s first President P.Ochirbat, a decree was issued declaring a national period of mourning by the current President U.Khurelsush. P.Ochirbat, who also served as the Chairman of the People’s Great Khural of the Mongolian People’s Republic, was an important figure in Mongolia’s political history.

As per the decree, the national mourning will take place from 7:00 a.m. on January 24, to 12:00 p.m. on January 25. During this period, the national flag will be flown at half-mast across the country, either at a 45-degree angle or lowered to two-thirds of its pole.

This national mourning reflects the deep respect and gratitude that the people of Mongolia hold for the late President P.Ochirbat’s enduring legacy. His contributions to the country’s development and independence continue to resonate with the nation’s history. The declaration marks a solemn moment for the entire country, as citizens come together to honor the life and memory of a leader who played a pivotal role in shaping modern Mongolia.
