Officials from the Ministry of Family, Labor, and Social Protection recently held a meeting with representatives from several international organizations to discuss policies and actions concerning the rights of families and children.
The meeting included delegates from notable organizations such as the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the International Labor Organization (ILO), Japan’s Save the Children’s Fund, World Vision International, OneSky, Good Neighbors, the International Development Law Organization (IDLO), the Lorinet Foundation, and the General Authority for Child, Family Development and Protection.
During the meeting, M.Tsogtbaatar, Acting Head of the Department of Family Policy, delivered a comprehensive report on the current situation regarding families and children in Mongolia, covering policies, legal frameworks, and reforms in the sector. He also introduced the 2025 plans of the international organizations present at the meeting.
Minister L.Enkh-Amgalan emphasized the ministry's commitment to maintaining regular dialogue with international bodies. "We are going to establish a working group to focus on family support policies, address child labor issues, evaluate the implementation of related activities, and provide policy recommendations," the minister said. He also noted the importance of exchanging information on child protection during disasters and emergencies, evaluating trauma treatment measures, and ensuring adequate funding for child protection services.
