Last week, 100 emergency cases were reported across Mongolia, with 84 of them related to fires. Additionally, 14 incidents were linked to human activities, including missing persons, road and transportation accidents, and vehicles stuck in snow or mud. Tragically, two individuals lost their lives due to these accidents.

Rescue efforts by the emergency services saved the lives of 13 individuals. In Ulaanbaatar City alone, 57 fire-related incidents were recorded during the same period. These accidents were distributed across various districts: eight cases occurred in Bayanzurkh District, five in Sukhbaatar District, and 15 in Songinokhairkhan District. Khan-Uul District reported nine cases, Bayangol District had six, and Chingeltei District recorded seven. Meanwhile, Nalaikh District reported a single fire-related accident.

As temperatures drop sharply, the Emergency Management Agency of the capital city is urging residents to prioritize fire safety. They advise ensuring proper maintenance and safe use of stoves, chimneys, and heating systems, regularly inspecting carbon monoxide detectors, and avoiding electrical overloads.

Authorities emphasize that vigilance is essential to prevent fires and ensure the safety of homes and communities during the cold season.
