Vote for Mongolians applying for Fjallraven-2019

Three Mongolians have applied for the Fjallraven Polar 2019 for a chance to drive a team of sled-dogs for 300 kilometers through the Scandinavian arctic in April.

Mongolian-born applicants are:

  • B.Tuvshin – a construction worker and member of Nomadic Hiking Club living in Pittsburg, California. He’s a father of four who enjoys hiking and traveling.
  • N.Enkhsaruul – a Mongolian living in Sweden who believes the answer to global warming is sustainable development. He has traveled to various countries.
  • L.Lkhagvaa – an agent at the RE/MAX Mongolia who relieves his stress by hiking and running. He wishes to raise the Mongolian flag in the North Pole someday.

Only 30 people are selected each year to participate in the winter expedition in nature. There are two ways for them to get selected. First, by votes – people around the world can cast their vote on their favorite applications. The second is by jury. Fjallraven assembles its polar event team and they pick their favorite applications. Applications are divided up into regions, with two people from each region – one jury selection and one vote winner – going through.

The application period, which this year runs from November 15 to December 13 attracted 4,573 entries last year. The dedicated application site received close to three million visits during this time with applicants acquiring a collective total of approximately 987,000 votes.

Mongolians have been actively taking part in the event since 2015. E.Tseren was selected as a participant in 2015, B.Zagdaa in 2016, Baaska in 2017, and S.Nomin in the latest trip organized in April this year.
