The Mongolian National State Emergency Committee (MNSEC) held a regular meeting today to review the process of flood relief plan for Bayan-Ulgii Province.
Disaster assistance team dispatched to Ulgii soum, Bayar-Ulgii Province updated on the situation and discuss other problems at hand.
Approximately 700 people of 160 families were hit by flood caused from a downpour in Ulgii soum, Bayan-Ulgii Province on June 10. Through an online conference, the Ministry of Health advised doctors of hospitals and clinics of Bayan-Ulgii Province to provide medical treatment and assistance immediately, prevent disease outbreaks, and increase investigative surveying, according to M.Enkh-Amar, the secretary of MNSEC.
Affected families are helping with the removal of flood water, research on soil pollution, and decontamination measures. Currently, an area of 26,000 square meters in Ulgii soum has been sanitized and decontaminated using 7.7 tons of chemicals. The team also managed to resolve clean water issues.
