Mongolia’s national basketball team has officially announced its final roster for the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 Qualifiers, selecting 12 top players who will face formidable teams from Japan and China in the upcoming matches. Following an intensive selection process, Head Coach Vassilis Fragkias and his coaching team carefully trimmed down an initial pool of 18 players, choosing a balanced squad that combines domestic league stars with emerging talent from international competitions.
Key players from leading domestic clubs, such as Khasiin Khuleguud, Erdenet Miners, SG Apes, and Bishrelt Metal, dominate the final lineup. Notable inclusions feature Fairfax High School’s promising young talent Ch.Margad, alongside experienced leaders like A.Azbayar and B.Bilguun, whose performances have consistently stood out in the local league. The squad also integrates fresh energy with newcomers such as G.Odbayar and M.Ulzii-Orshikh, reflecting a strategy aimed at blending experience with youthful vigor.
As part of their preparation, the team departed for Japan on November 16, where they are scheduled to play friendly matches against two local squads.
