According to the National Agency Meteorology and the Environmental Monitoring, snow cover ranging up to 18 centimeters has accumulated across various regions of Mongolia, including the mountainous areas of the Mongol-Altai, Khangai, Khuvsgul, and Khentii ranges, as well as the valleys of the Orkhon, Selenge, Kherlen, and Onon rivers and the plains in eastern region.

The thickest snowfall was recorded in Bayan-Adarga soum of Khentii Province, where the snow cover reached 18 centimeters. Several other areas also saw significant snowfall, with nine to 12 centimeters reported in locations such as Bayankhongor’s Bayanbulag, Gurvanbulag, and Jargalant soums, as well as Bulgan soum of Dornod Province and Batnorov and Dadal soums of Khentii Province. In other regions, the snow cover measured between zero and seven centimeters.

These snowy conditions signal the start of winter’s full embrace, impacting local communities and transportation routes. With varying levels of snow cover across the country, authorities are urging citizens, particularly in heavily affected areas, to exercise caution while traveling and to prepare for potential disruptions.
