Mongolian para-taekwondo athletes seized two gold and one bronze medals at the 2017 World Para Taekwondo Championships.
The seventh World Para Taekwondo Championships took place on October 19 in London, UK, and was attended by more than 260 athletes from 59 countries.
G.Bolor-Erdene and Kh.Enkhtuya won gold medals in their divisions, while B.Shinebayar took home a bronze medal.
G.Bolor-Erdene became a three-time world champion in the men’s 61 kg of K44 category with his victory in London.
Mongolian athlete Kh.Enkhtuya became Mongolia’s first female athlete to win a gold medal in para sports after winning a gold medal in the women’s 49 kg of K44 category.
B.Shinebayar brought home a bronze medal in the men’s 61 kg of K42 category.
The seventh World Para Championships provided athletes with the opportunity to earn vital Paralympic qualification points as the qualification cycle for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
