A postage stamp named “Games of the 31st Olympiad” was launched on July 28 in relation to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, set to start on August 5. “Games of the 31st Olympiad” became the 1013th postage stamp of Mongolia.
The postage stamp was launched at the Mongolian National Olympic Committee on last Thursday.
Executive director of Mongol Post Company Ts.Batsaikhan, vice president of Mongol Post Company A.Sharav, president of the Mongolian National Olympic Committee D.Zagdsuren, head of the Mongolia Olympic team J.Khatanbaatar, and representatives of athletes attended the launch ceremony.
A total of 200 postage stamps were published on Thursday, and all stamps have been sold out.
“Games of the 31st Olympiad” postage stamps were published with consent of the International Olympic Committee and the Mongolian National Olympic Committee.
The state flag of Brazil, city of Rio de Janeiro, Christ the Redeemer statue, Olympic medals, and the Olympic rings are depicted on the stamp.
The postage stamp was sold at the value of 1,000 MNT each.
