The Para-archery Olympic qualification tournament, Czech Target 2016, is taking place in Nove Mesto na Morave, the Czech Republic from June 11 to 20. Mongolian archer B.Oyun-Erdene seized a gold medal in the women’s recurve category, and won a qualification for the Rio 2016 Summer Paralympics.
In the first round, she defeated an Indian athlete 7:1. In the second round, she beat an archer from Iraq 6:4 and qualified for the final. In the final match, she defeated a Taiwanese athlete 7:1 and secured a gold medal.
The Rio 2016 will be B.Oyun-Erdene’s second Paralympics. She has previously competed in the London 2012 Paralympics.
Four Mongolian athletes are competing in the Czech Target 2016.
As of today, Mongolia has claimed 33 Olympic qualifications, including nine in freestyle wrestling, three in shooting, two in archery, four in boxing, one in taekwondo, one in weightlifting, and 13 in judo.
