20 judokas to compete in Guadalajara World Masters

Twenty Mongolian judokas left for Mexico to vie for Olympic quota places at the Guadalajara World Masters 2016 from May 27 to 29. The World Masters games invites 16 top judokas of the world to compete in each weight division. The Mongolian Judo Federation said that the fact that 20 judokas were invited to the prestigious tournament from Mongolia demonstrates the progress Mongolian athletes and organizations have made in this field. “Guadalajara has made great progress in their capacity to deliver world-class events having staged the Junior World Championships in Agadir in 2010 and a host of continental events which have attracted a great number of international judoka. The World Judo Masters event, which was last staged in Rabat, Morrocco in 2015, is a special competition as it is a meeting ground for the top 16 judoka on the World Ranking List in each weight category. The competition offers more points than any other event after the World Championships and the Olympic Games and is a key milestone in this Olympic cycle with Rio 2016 only months away,” said International Judo Federation President Marius L. Vizer.
