100 Human Rights Trainers prepared

In celebration of Human Rights Day on December 10, a new training program has begun to prepare 100 university students as human rights trainers. The initiative, organized by the Parliament and the National Human Rights Commission of Mongolia, aims to promote knowledge about human rights, encourage students to become defenders of these rights, and explain the principles of the “National Action Plan for  Human Rights-II”.

The training, titled “Our Rights, Our Future,” started on December 7, and is designed to equip students with the necessary skills to spread human rights education. This initiative aims to foster a society where individuals are well-informed of their rights, fulfill their duties, and embrace responsibility, ultimately reducing human rights violations in society.

Throughout the two-day online program, participants learned about topics such as equality, freedom of expression, children's rights, the protection of human rights defenders, the importance of the rule of law, and the role of human rights-based approaches in daily life. The training will conclude with a certification ceremony on December 10, after a final visit to various institutions, including the center for juvenile detention and other government departments.

The program emphasizes the importance of human rights education in shaping a just, compassionate, and democratic society, with the newly trained trainers expected to continue promoting human rights in their communities.
