Incidents of disrespect in public spaces, online defamation, verbal abuse, and harassment have become increasingly common in recent years, often leading to conflicts, legal disputes, and even criminal offenses. Such behaviors—ranging from the violation of individuals’ rights to outright acts of hooliganism—have raised significant concerns for public safety and social harmony.

In response, the National Police Agency of Mongolia has initiated a comprehensive public awareness and influence campaign titled “Culture Starts with You”. Launched nationwide on November 11, this campaign aims to foster a positive shift in public attitudes, encouraging citizens to embrace respectful and courteous behavior both online and offline.

The campaign’s key objectives include raising awareness about the importance of civility, promoting mindful interactions, and urging individuals to take personal responsibility for their behavior in public settings and digital platforms. By advocating for respectful communication and positive attitudes, the initiative seeks to reduce incidents of misconduct and contribute to the enhancement of social norms and public decorum.

Officials believe that cultivating a culture of mutual respect and understanding is essential for building a safer, more harmonious society. Through various informational and outreach activities, the campaign invites every citizen to play a part in creating a more positive and respectful environment, starting with their own actions and attitudes.
