Textbooks for schools to be printed quarterly

In a recent meeting, the Minister of Education, P.Naranbayar and the State Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Kh.Batjargal had an in-depth review of the ongoing efforts to revamp the curriculum for preschool and primary education. They also discussed the development of new textbooks and exercise workbooks that are tailored to enhance students’ learning experiences.

One of the key reforms is the revival of the program, which aims to improve children’s reading comprehension and their ability to apply what they read. The new curriculum is designed to not only boost literacy skills but also better cater to the cognitive needs of students through more interactive learning materials. Computer Science has also been introduced, marking a significant step towards modernizing education and equipping students with essential digital skills.

The newly developed textbooks, instructional guides, and exercise workbooks are being carefully reviewed to ensure they align with the latest educational standards. The new materials are expected to be implemented in the 2025-2026 school year, with an emphasis on gradual release throughout the academic terms. This phased approach aims to reduce the weight of homework assignments and ease students’ academic burden, making learning more manageable.

The government plans to distribute textbooks and workbooks on a quarterly basis, which will lighten the load on students and offer a more balanced academic workload. These changes are part of a broader initiative to make education more accessible, engaging, and effective for the younger generation of Mongolia.
