Over 4,000 meters of fences removed

A consultation of the capital city’s management staff was held. At the beginning of the consultation, the head of the Monitoring and Evaluation Department of the Mayor’s Office of Ulaanbaatar City, Kh.Gantulga presented the results of the previous consultation. During the previous urgent consultation, the Governor of the Capital City and the Mayor of Ulaanbaatar City, Kh.Nyambaatar gave 25 tasks, and their implementation was at 87.2 percent.

A study to improve entrances and exits in Ulaanbaatar City was conducted. Accordingly, Kh.Gantulga said there are 3,074 meters of fences, of which 646 meters of fences that need to be brought up to standard, 17 garages, objects and eight barriers that need to be removed in 32 locations. Therefore, the relevant authorities were instructed to intensify the work.

Moreover, the General Agency for Land Administration and Management of the capital city presented the process of “Fence-2024” land acquisition. This year, 9,943 meters of fences are planned to be removed in 244 locations throughout the capital city. 4,130 meters of which have been removed in 135 locations. For example, a 57-meter iron fence with a concrete base in the 26th khoroo of Bayanzurkh District,  43 meter iron fence in 20th khoroo of Songinokhairkhan District, and a 71-meter iron fence in 37th khoroo of the same district was dismantled. 

The Governor of the Capital City said, “In order to reduce the traffic congestion in Ulaanbaatar City, the large-capacity, multi-purpose public transportation, and parking lots are needed. In this context, the “Parking” program will be implemented. First, permanent parking lots and potential parking locations will be explored. The parking program will be developed and discussed by the City Council”. Kh.Nyambaatar also gave the following duties and tasks. Duties are included, such as not to issue a building permit unless the partial master plan is approved, to install cameras in locations where the litters are thrown, arrange or manage the trade on hand, intensify land acquisition in connection with the construction of Selbe and Bayankhoshuu sub-centers, and enhance the relocation of families living in flash flood prone areas.
