57th annual meeting of ADB organized to discuss green future

The 57th Annual Meeting of the Asian Development Bank’s (ADB) Board of Governors is taking place on May 2 to 5 in Tbilisi, Georgia. Dubbed “The Bridge to the Future”, the annual meeting is in the company of thousands of delegates. The event aims to discuss key development issues facing Asia and the Pacific including climate change, artificial intelligence, and green globalization through nearly 70 events in four days.

The meeting brings together finance ministers, central bank governors, senior government officials, and representatives from the private sector, academia, media, and civil society from ADB’s 68 members. Main discussions that are going to be held at the annual
meeting are related to topics such as, climate resilience, renewable energy, food security, greener value chain, future digital infrastructure, private sector’s participation and civil society engagement.
Georgia is hosting the 57th annual meeting under the slogan “The Bridge to the Future”, to reflect its stance as a country with a long history of serving as a natural bridge between Europe and Asia.
On top of the main discussions, the bank releases crucial publications such as, Asian Development Policy Report 2024: Aging Well in Asia and ADB’s Evolution Roadmap: Update to Strategy 2030 and ADB–IEA’s Innovative Policy Research.
As a key source of external finance for Mongolia, ADB has been present in the country for more than 30 years. Its support focuses on inclusive, climate-conscious development and improving infrastructure to help diversify the economy and build resilience.
ADB, itself, is committed to achieving a prosperous, inclusive, resilient, and sustainable Asia and the Pacific, while sustaining its efforts to eradicate extreme poverty. Established in 1966, it is owned by 68 members—49 from the region.
