In anticipation of the World Water Day, which is held on March 22, the Water Agency and the Tuul River Basin Administration presented statistical data related to water use by each sector.

Being named the largest water consumer in the energy sector, the Thermal Power Station No. 4 (TPS-4) used 19.2 million cubic meters of water last year. The TPS-3 came in second with 9.4 million cubic meters of water and after that, the TPS-2 was in third place consuming 959,000 cubic meters of water. These three organizations used 29.7 million cubic meters of water in 2023, which is equal to six percent of Mongolia’s annual consumption. Officials from the Water Agency explained that organizations using a large amount of water can reduce their consumption by introducing advanced techniques and technologies and save and recycle natural resources, and they started a campaign “Let’s save from today for future”.
