‘The MongolZ’ qualified for ‘PGL Major Copenhagen 2024’

“PGL Major Copenhagen 2024” with a prize fund of 1.2 million USD will be held in Denmark on March 17-31, with three stages, and two teams from Asia have the right to participate in. Therefore, the Asian qualifying round of the Counter-Strike World Championship was held at the Perfect World Esports Center in Shanghai, China.

As previous Majors are using a swiss-system group stage, twenty four teams will qualify for the “PGL Major Copenhagen 2024”. This includes sixteen teams who will qualify for the first stage, which has been renamed from the Challengers Stage to the Opening Stage. The top eight teams from the Opening Stage will move on to the newly-renamed Elimination Stage, along with eight teams directly from the Regional Major Ranking (RMR) qualifiers. Finally, the top eight teams from the Elimination Stage will play a single-elimination Playoff Stage to determine a winner.

“The MongolZ” and “ATOX Esports” teams from Mongolia participated in the Asian qualifying round. “The MongolZ” team has been selected as one of the two teams to represent Asia. Ranked the 21st in the world, “The MongolZ” won two consecutive matches in the preliminary round of Asia and played against the Chinese team “Lynn Vision” for the right to the “PGL Major Copenhagen 2024”. They beat the Chinese team by 13:8. Thus, “The MongolZ” team qualified for the “PGL Major Copenhagen 2024” and team members Senzu, 910 and Mzinho will issue stickers (badges with team and player logos) for the first time. In addition, Mzinho from “The MongolZ” is the second youngest player at the World Esports Championship at 16 years old.
