Sh.Davaadorj wins silver and bronze at Winter Swimming World Cup

Sh.Davaadorj won a silver and a bronze medal in the breaststroke and backstroke swimming events of the Fourth World Ice Swimming Championship, which is held every two years.  The tournament was canceled in 2021 and took place this year in Glokow, Poland. Sh.Davaadorj competed with athletes from 28 countries.

He has been swimming for 38 years and started ice swimming eight years ago at the age of 45. There are three types of swimming: regular, ice swimming and winter swimming. Normal swimming is raced inside the pool at 28 degrees Celsius. Ice swimming and winter swimming require athletes to swim at -2 to -3 degrees Celsius.

Sh.Davaadorj also won silver and bronze medals at the Fourth World Ice Swimming Championships on February 4, the opening day of the Winter Olympics.

Rescuer of the National Emergency Management Agency Sh.Davaador won four medals at the Winter Swimming World Cup. He is the only Mongolian athlete who practices winter and ice swimming. He won 32 gold, 29 silver and 14 bronze medals at the 2018-2019 Senior World Cup, World Cup and international competitions, leading the world rankings and winning trophies.
