On April 17, lawmakers J.Enkhbayar and Kh.Nyambaatar submitted the bill on preventing the COVID-19 pandemic to Speaker of Parliament G.Zandanshatar.

The bill on preventing the COVID-19 pandemic is to be only active during the period of heightened state of readiness, and has four articles and 19 provisions.

The bill defines the scope and procedure on activities to prevent from the COVID-19 pandemic, authorizing the government and National Emergency Commission to approve the regime and procedure during the period of heightened state of readiness nationwide. It stipulates that the responsibilities of and prohibitions for citizens, organizations and enterprises.

In particular, it is considered appropriate to regulate the payment of necessary expenses related to the isolation, treatment, services, disinfection and sterilization by law.

Approval of the bill will create a legal environment for prompt action to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in Mongolia.
