Speaker of Parliament G.Zandanshatar and Head of the Parliamentary Research Institute D.Badamdash participated in Virtual Parliament international online discussion organized by Global Partners Governance on April 8.
A total of 25 participants from around the world discussed and exchanged their views on how parliaments work to prevent COVID-19.
The speaker emphasized that the regular session of Parliament of Mongolia was opened via video-conference for the first time. He said, “In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Secretariat of Parliament is fully preparing for video-conference and the plenary session is being held in five halls. Due to the situation, an amendment to the Law on Parliamentary Procedure is under discussion.”
“In case of a state of emergency, war or an international quarantine, the meeting of the main session, standing committees and sub-committees for lawmaking are being held electronically. In connection with this, we started developing an internal e-conference software.”
