Writer D.Norov wins Utgyn Chimeg-2020

The Mongolian Writers’ Union held its Utgyn Chimeg short story festival on January 10 and writer D.Norov took first place for his story “Khereenii Nulims”. Second and third places were won by writer P.Batkhuyag for his “Tsaggui gazar” and S.Purevsuren for his “Aav, khuu khoyor”. State Honored Actor N.Davaa won the best reciter award.

In the previous year, S.Damdindorj won for his “Gurvan Khemjeest” short story, B.Tsoojchuluuntsetseg won second place for her “Bulangiin zogsool“, and T.Bum-Erdene settled for third place for his “Olon Bolooroi”.

Since 1990, the Mongolian Writers’ Union has organized Utgyn Chimeg festival to enrich the development of short story writing, a unique genre of Mongolian literature. Utgyn Chimeg festival engages theme-free short stories aimed to develop new composition and dramaturgy in Mongolian literature.
