President's Chief of Staff Z.Enkhbold met the successful participants of the 22nd Soroban (Japanese abacus) - Mental Arithmetic international competition held among contestants from 46 countries. Mongolian mental athletes represented 10 provinces, and nine districts of Ulaanbaatar.
The children have been trained at TOYA Academy for Children’s Development. TOYA has 10 branches in Ulaanbaatar and 20 branches in the countryside. Chief of Staff of the President’s Office Z.Enkhbold delivered a congratulatory speech to the children for their remarkable success at the international competition, held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Over 5,000 children participated in the competition and 78 of them were from Mongolia. The Mongolian team won the Grand Prize, two contestants became champion,s won 20 gold cups and 33 silver cups, and placed third overall. Middle school student of Khuvsgul Province G.Jambaldorj became grand champion, while T.Tenuun and A.Munkh-erdene from Ulaanbaatar became champions.
During the meeting, three mental athletes showed some of their abilities to calculate three digit numbers in just few seconds without using any tools.
